- Grammar is a structure made up of several structures, therefore, start learning from the basic elements: auxiliary verbs, pronouns, basic vocabulary items.
- Subject is obligatory, if you omit that, sentences are ungrammatical.
- Word order is almost fixed. There are basic sentence patterns, they cannot change. Learn them by heart.
- Adjectives are placed before nouns. They are invariable words as far as gender and number (singular/ plural) are concerned.
- Do not translate verbal tenses into your own language, it can always lead to trouble because the same structrures do not appear in the same way in every language.
- Avoid translating items like modal verbs and -ing forms. Understand them as grammatical elements instead.
I hope these ideas have helped you to improve your English language. Do you have other tips which can be useful?
