HALLOWEEN SPOOKY STORIES

This year, my students are going to create spooky Halloween stories. How?

They are going to use a Spinning Wheel plot generator. It makes writing look like a fun game.

How to use it?

• Students spin the wheel to choose from the different elements which MUST appear in the story. One element from each link has to be included. They can add more ideas.
• They have to invent a short spooky story using these elements. 

• INCLUDE: 
• An introductory sentence: 
• A long time ago...
• It was a dark rainy night in...
• This is the legend of...
• Believe it or not...

• Use simple past and past continous to talk about long and short actions. 

• Include adjectives and adverbs to make it more interesting. Some nouns and verbs can also work: 
• Frightened, desperate, loud, breath taking, horrible, chilling, terrifying...
• Desperately, suddenly, quickly, slowly, loudly... 
• Fear, murder, blood, scar, yell, scream, robbery,  kill,  howl,  chase...

• Ending: 
• Ever after, since then...
• Legend says... 
• Nobody knows...
• Be creative!!

Caveats and options:

• Create a comic with these ideas
• Create a short video including characters, dialogues and a setting. 
• Role play your ideas!!
