INFOGRAPHIES FOR ELT/TEFL. GOING GREEN

Infographies are a profitable way to evaluate several skills: writing and speaking. They can also be part of communicative projects and show our students' creativity.

HOW CAN WE CREATE AN INFOGRAPHY?

There are some online tools which can help us. (see the following example). In them, you should include your ideas, use the vocabulary needed and call for action.

-Be clear when presenting your ideas

- Use interactive elements to make it more appealing

-Include pictures, figures and the like to raise interest

This is an example in which I present a communicative project to my students about ECOLOGY.
They have to choose a topic, look for information online and be creative.

HOW TO PRESENT AN INFOGRAPHY?

  1. -Include set pharses such as: I'm going to talk about...  WHat is the meaning of.... /Do you know something about....?
  1. -Give a brief definition of  your project. Include references like: AS you can see... / According to..../ AS I said before /  We cannot forget that.... ///
  1. ASk your audience: What does this image suggest to you? What is your opinion about...? Do you agree with....?
  1. Give different points of view: On the one side.... on the other side// One may argue that.... /// On the contrary..... /Nevertheless.../However
  1. Give a conclusion: In conclusion.../ Finally // To put it in a nutshel//
  1. Include quotes, videos or shoking elements to make it alive.
